As the lead designer for the Discover Music Festival, I brought to life a vibrant and nostalgic celebration of the disco era. The festival aimed to immerse attendees in the sights, sounds, and spirit of 1970s disco, a time of glitter, funky beats, and uninhibited joy.
The Solution
We blended authentic 1970s-inspired elements such as glittering disco balls, funky typefaces, and vibrant color palettes with clean, modern layouts and playful digital touches. This approach created a fresh and cohesive visual identity that honored the disco era while feeling relevant and exciting for today’s audience.
The Problem
The challenge was to capture the nostalgic spirit of disco without making it feel dated or kitschy, while appealing to both longtime disco fans and a younger audience unfamiliar with the era. The design also needed to work seamlessly across posters, merchandise, the website, and on-site materials, maintaining consistency and energy throughout.
